Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium Calgary

Play Crowded House Music
Dave's lights on the backdrop

Today felt a bit like a nice Groundhog Day. We played at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary instead of the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton. Not just the same name but even the layout of the 2 auditoriums is practically identical so it was easy for the band to find their way around (no Spinal Tap moments). I think this may have contributed to yet another brilliant show. Relaxed and coherent before the show is always a good start. Here are some photos and set list from the night.

Great show in Calgary

From the front row of Wembley, to the front row of Brighton, to the front row of Bournemouth, to the balcony of the THEKLA in Bristol and beyond all of England I have watched Crowded House, Neil Finn, and the Finn brothers, ending in Calgary row LLLL last night. Guys, I have never heard you play better together than last night. What a great bunch of songs played by great musicians. I can't thank you enough for the great night we had. Never stop making music and playing together. On that form there is nobody better.

Calgary Show was wonderful.

Great show last night fellas! I was at the one a few years ago at the same venue (great acoustics and sound) and it was brilliant as well. I am always in awe at how the band breaks down the fourth wall and let the audience into the performance. Beautiful harmonies... Faves of the night: It's only natural, Weather With You, I Got You, She Called Up, 4 Seasons in One Day, Don't Dream It's Over, Fall At Your Feet, Better Be Home Soon, Really enjoying the new album. It has been a grower for me. There was no immediate catchy single for me this time around. But repeated listenings have revealed wonderful layers and I find myself drawn more and more to certain songs. At this time new album favorites are: Either Side Of The World, Amsterdamn, Archers Arrow, Saturday Sun, Twice If You're Lucky, It was a pleasure to hear 4 of those last night. And my appreciation of Falling Dove and Isolation are growing as a result of hearing them live. Thanks for another great concert. Please come back often and keep playing at the Jubilee Auditorium if you can as there is no better sounding room in Calgary! It was also a pleasure to meet Nick, Mark and Matt outside the bus after the show. Thanks for being so hospitable with pics and autographs... Neil you are an illusive gent. I will have to get your autograph another time... Keep On Rockin'

An awesome show...

Thanks guys ...last nights show was a cracker! I also waited many years for this - it was well worth it. You covered all my favourite classics and a few more besides (and Split Endz - wow!). Hope the rest of your tour is just as much a success. Looking forward to next time :)

Thank you

It was a brilliant show-- intimate and full of integrity and good humour. I found it quite moving. Kudos to your lighting designer as well!

Thank you all for giving us an amazing show!

Have been waiting 25+ years to see you (Neil, Nick), and see you live was better than I could have ever imagined. Just wanted to thank every member of Crowded House and the technical crew for the generosity of their effort, energy and talent during last night's show. I think my heart just grew a size bigger :) Safe travels, all.
